Searching

If you are searching for a particular image or a type of image you can use the search fields to narrow down the search.

If you are looking for an image which has certain keywords associated with it (normally the keywords are derived from the 'Subject' and 'Description' fields) then enter those words in 'Keywords' field. You can specify words to include and words to exclude by typing a '+' or '-' sign in front of them, for example to search for all the pictures that have the keyword 'blue' but not 'green' then enter '+blue -green'. If the keywords are not preceded by a '+' or '-' sign then all images which have any of those keywords will be returned.

If you know the Image ID (or Name) enter it or part of it in the 'Image Name' field.

If you are searching for images from, before or between specific dates then enter those dates in the 'Image Date (From)' and/or 'Image Date (To)' field. Dates must be in the form dd/mm/yyyy, for example '10/05/1970'

You can search for a specific image subject (an image subject field might contain text such as 'Paul and Angela Smith's Wedding') by entering the subject, or part or it, in the 'Subject' field.
Similarly, if you are searching for an image with a specific description (an image description might be something like 'Paul and Angela cutting the cake') enter it into the 'Description' field.
